WHAT ARE BATCH ESPRESSO COFFEE BEANS?

Our espresso blend consists of three origins.

  • Nicaragua

  • Ethiopia

  • Colombia

The Nicaraguan element of the blend forms the body of the espresso and provides the nuttiness.
The Ethiopian coffee beans adds a sweet friutiness.
While the Colombian coffee brings all the flavours together and smooths out the espresso blend.
What is in a batch coffee subscription

The medium roast ensures that the espresso is smooth and balanced.

It can be enjoyed as an espresso but equally has the body to cut through milk based espresso drinks such as flat whites or lattes.

The blend of the three coffees has been expertly crafted resulting in a smooth milk chocolate taste profile with notes of raisins and mixed nuts.

WHO ARE WE?

Batch coffee club is a team of coffee professionals that have worked in the coffee industry for many years.

We love coffee and we love people. Our mission is to showcase the best coffee in the UK while providing an unbeatable service.

MEET OUR FOUNDER TOM

Tom Saxon has worked in the coffee industry for over 10 years. His love for coffee began in Australia taking his first job in the coffee industry as a barista.

Tom worked at several of Sydney's specialty coffee shops before spending a year in South America working on coffee farms and building relationships at origin.

Returning to the UK, Tom began working for a coffee roaster based in Manchester before finally deciding to start his own coffee brand in the form of a specialty coffee subscription. Batch coffee club has evolved and progressed since the early days but Tom still tastes all the coffees and is always on the lookout for new coffee roasters.

FAQs: THE COFFEE

  • If you don’t like the coffee please reach out via our contact form. We will find a solution, whether it's an alternative type of coffee, a different grind size or a replacement.

  • Specialty coffee is coffee that has been carefully grown at origin and roasted in a particular way. It officially is coffee that scores over 80/100 in the SCA (specialty coffee association) cupping scale.

  • Our espresso is roasted to a medium level, but on the darker side of medium.

We think this is the perfect roast level for espresso, it has enough body to cut through milk but is roasted with enough care and attention to keep the complexities of the coffee and produce a deliciously flavoursome espresso.

  • Espresso beans will start to decrease in flavour after about a month after the roast date, the coffee is still good to consume after this and the demise in flavour is gradual.

Ground espresso coffee will lose its flavour more rapidly, this is why we recommend purchasing coffee when you are ready to consume and purchase small amounts often rather than in bulk.

  • We love our espresso coffee (albeit we’re obviously a little biassed). We believe that our espresso works perfectly for the home barista that wants more out of their coffee and appreciates specialty coffee.

The beauty of specialty coffee though is that there are many different flavours and profiles to experience, so our espresso may not be your preference.

In that case checkout our espresso beans guide that includes some of our favourite espresso coffee in the UK.

  • Our espresso coffee is Fair Trade, as every product should be. In fact it will be way above fair trade which is the norm in specialty coffee.

The coffee isn’t certified organic, however after visiting many coffee farmers throughout the world the lack of certification doesn’t mean the coffee isn’t organic.

  • Depending on whether you select whole beans or ground on the product page. We can then grind your espresso coffee depending on how you plan to brew the coffee.
