Hundred house work largely through direct trade wherever possible and then a close selection of green suppliers, guaranteeing the farmers a price irrespective of market fluctuations and before a harvest is complete.

They also pay the farmer before coffee is shipped, in this way supporting the small farm holds and facilitating them to run as independent businesses.

With this recognition to the farmers arises a freedom and commitment to develop unique coffees of distinction and often, the funds to improve their post-harvest processes so that they live up to the quality of the cherries.

The Origin

The Popayán coffee from Hundred House coffee roasters originates from the Popayán region of Colombia.

Popayan is located in the department of Cauca at 1.700 m.a.s.l. The region's topography is perfect for growing exceptional coffee.

The so-called Meseta de Popayan is sheltered by the Andes mountain range which helps generate homogeneous climatic and altitudinal characteristics. The result is a balanced cup profile with floral and caramel notes.

As the fourth largest country in South America, and the third largest coffee producer in the world, there is no mistaking Colombia’s presence in not only scale, but also skill.

The country offers a landscape of contrasts; mountains, forests, coastlines, and micro-climates that work to produce some of the world’s most recognisable coffee.
