Who are Lost Sheep Coffee Roasters?

In 2011 the founders of Lost Sheep quit their careers working long hours to spend a year backpacking across the world.

When they arrived in Melbourne, Australia, they discovered Australian-style coffee and instantly knew they had to bring this style of coffee back to the UK. They didn’t realize it at the time, but in that moment, Lost Sheep Coffee was born.

In 2012, they purchased a three-wheeled micro coffee van and pitched up on Canterbury high street.

Their aim was simple: introduce their local community to specialty Australian coffee. In 2014 they upgraded to their Lost Sheep Coffee Pod and in 2015 they opened a second location in Ashford, at the McArthur Glenn Designer Outlet.

In 2017 they upgraded their Canterbury Pod and opened what would become their award-winning specialty coffee roastery in Whitstable, Kent.

They roast and send out beans and capsules to their wonderful customers all over the world as well as supplying their fantastic wholesale customers.

Coffee farming is very important to the economy of Huila, Colombia.

Huila is one of Colombia's top coffee producing regions, known for its high quality beans.

Most coffee in Huila is grown between 1,200 and 1,800 meters above sea level, making it suitable for high-altitude coffees. This altitude and climate allow the coffee beans to develop intense flavours.

In 2016, Huila produced over 2.6 million bags of coffee, according to the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation.

The coffee is primarily grown on small, family-owned farms. Many farmers are part of cooperatives that allow them to collectively sell their beans.
